This trip combined two of Africa’s most iconic experiences — a seven-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the scenic Lemosho Route, followed by a five-day Big 5 safari through Tanzania’s most legendary parks. From the Roof of Africa to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, every detail was coordinated with trusted local guides.

Arrive in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Moshi. Rest and acclimatize at the Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel — a luxury base at the foot of the mountain. Gear check and trek briefing with the guide team.

Begin the Kilimanjaro Trek

Lemosho Gate / Shira 2 Camp

Begin the trek at Lemosho Gate, walking through lush rainforest to Shira 2 Camp at 3,890m. An 11km hike over 6–7 hours through some of the mountain’s most beautiful terrain.

Lava Tower & Barranco Camp

Lava Tower / Barranco Camp

Trek to Lava Tower at 4,600m for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp at 3,900m. A 12km day that uses the “climb high, sleep low” strategy to prepare your body for the summit.

Barranco Wall to Karanga Camp

Climb the famous Barranco Wall — a scramble up a dramatic rock face with stunning views. Continue to Karanga Camp at 3,995m with an acclimatization hike toward Barafu.

Summit Camp

Trek to Barafu Summit Camp at 4,681m. Rest, hydrate, and prepare for the midnight summit push. Early dinner and a few hours of sleep before the alarm.

Summit — Uhuru Peak

Uhuru Peak / Millennium Camp

Summit night — ascend through the darkness to Uhuru Peak at 5,895m, the Roof of Africa. Watch the sunrise from the highest point on the continent. Descend to Millennium Camp to celebrate.

Descend & Celebrate

Mweka Gate / Moshi

Final descent via Mweka Gate. Receive summit certificates and celebrate with the crew. Return to Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel for a hot shower and a well-earned rest.

Tarangire National Park

Drive to Tarangire National Park for game drives among ancient baobab trees. Spot elephants, lions, and cheetahs in one of Tanzania’s most underrated parks. Stay at Manyara’s Secret lodge.

Central Serengeti — Day 1

Central Serengeti

Drive to the Central Serengeti and settle into Embalakai Serengeti Camp. Morning, afternoon, and evening game drives across the savannah. Big cats, wildebeest, and wide-open landscapes. Bush lunch in the field.
